I am linking up with The Gypsy Mama for this week's installation of Five Minute Fridays:
We set a timer, throw caution to the winds and try to remember what it was like to just write without worrying if it’s just right or not.
1. Write for 5 minutes flat on the prompt- no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. Meet & encourage someone who linked up before you.

OK, are you ready? Give us your best five minutes on:
Gift...
I have two gifts I am thankful this morning... well and every day.
I don't know know where I would be without my husband. He is truly my best friend, someone I truly believe God handpick and shaped for me.
He has stood by through my side through many trying and difficult times. Especially when we were waiting for this Gift.
I wrote yesterday about a sweet "gift of a day" with my baby girl. Sometimes I still can believe she is ours. Our gift to keep, and give back to her Heavenly Father.
As I was looking at my little gift at one point yesterday, tears filled my eyes, and I seriously thought my heart would explode with all the love oozing out for my baby-gift-girl. I squeezed her, probably, a little too tight in an attempt to let her know how much her mama loved her and is thankful for her.
What on earth did we ever do to deserve such a gift? She is a gift I daily pray we will be good stewards of. A gift we raise to love her Jesus, and, as the plaque soon to be hanging in her nursery says,
Seek Justice, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly with (her) God. Micah 6:8
I remember those squeezy years with my babies like it was yesterday and now they are teens. And I think you learned well how to love that baby from a mama who loved you like this, the one I call friend. Rejoicing with you in the gifts of marriage and parenting. So nice to meet Ro's daughter.
ReplyDeleteThank so you much for your kind comment! And yes, I was very blessed with an incredible mom as an example!:)
DeleteLove your post. I did that just today. Squeezed my little lady, thanking God for her so much. You are blessed with two wonderful gifts!
ReplyDeleteYes, Jen, I am very blessed! Continue squeezing your little lady! I don't think we could ever do too much of it:)
DeleteMy second daughter is only two months, and this post really spoke to me. It's exactly how I feel- she's such an amazing gift.
ReplyDeleteTiffany, I loved discovering your blog through your comment here! Such an amazing story!
DeleteI nearly cried when I read the end of your post: "Seek Justice, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly with (her) God. Micah 6:8"
ReplyDeleteI have had that verse (and the song by Casting Crowns) playing in my head over and over.
God always knows what I need to see and hear. Great post!
Glad to find you on The Gypsy Mama link up!
Isn't it amazing how God can give us exactly what we need, even if its via the internet!?!:) Thanks for stopping by!
